See the Byway the Quiltway 2017-A Success!

Barn Quilt Grand Prize Winner-Kathy Meier of NiobraraNew visitors were drawn to our Byway on October 13 & 14, 2017 to view 15 quilt displays in our various communities. Many attended one or perhaps all four presentations of music, history, and quilting expertise which engaged audiences of all ages.

Along HWY 12 and within our communities, visitors had the opportunity to view over 400 painted barn and fence post quilts created to enhance See the Byway the Quiltway 2017 and honor Nebraska’s Sesquicentennial Year! The artwork of these barn quilts will adorn our Byway for years to come.

See the Byway the Quiltway 2017 event included a Grand Prize drawing for a painted, wooden, barn quilt block, created by OTSB board member, Marilyn Janovec. The winner of the Grand Prize was Kathy Meier of Niobrara.

Hats off to the East, Central and West area committee chairs and the many individuals who generously donated their time, efforts, and resources to make See the Byway the Quiltway 2017 a successful event!
